Quantity of Dimension One is a musical artist in the progressive / experimental / instrumental metal genre. The project was originally requested as an album cover. As the artist did not have a logo or other branding, it was proposed to develop a visual identity for the artist that would be used for future projects and marketing.
The initial project was expanded to include a logo, album cover, channel art / wallpaper, and a vinyl sticker with back print.
Progressive metal music has an emphasis on the technicality of its disparate elements and combination thereof, a major component being timing. Precision is key. To project that technicality with allusions to mathematics in the artist's name, the visual identity focuses on spacing and alignment, forming a geometry of various elements, precisely arranged to construct a whole; much like in progressive metal.
A modern typeface that demonstrates an emphasis on geometry and fit the aesthetic objective was chosen, with a versatility that is ideal for various logo and style treatments.
The logo lockup visually crystalizes the identity, the monolithic "1" being the locus around which the stylized QODO acronym and artist name are methodically arranged to form one logo.
Sticker specs include a 2 color gloss front with 1 color print on the sticker backing. A version of the QODO logo lockup that omits the small type, suited for small scales, is used on the backing.
